The mission of the Leicester Accounting Department is to provide accurate and timely financial information to local, State and Federal government officials, in accordance with Massachusetts General Laws and Generally Accepted Accounting Principals. The Accountant's office processes payroll and accounts payable warrants and is the custodian of all municipal contracts. The department also analyzes data and makes projections intended to guide local officials through the fiscal process and to ensure that all Town departments are operating within the approved budgets. The department assists the Town's auditors with financial information required for the annual town audit. The town accountant is a 'ex-officio" member of the Capital Improvement Planning Committee.
