LPD SafeCam Program
The Leicester Police Department invites the community to take part in the Leicester Police SafeCam program. This program is a partnership between police and other members of the community to keep our town safe. The program allows residents and business owners to register the location of their video surveillance systems with the police department to help fight and deter crime in the community.
Through this camera registration program, Leicester Police will be able to identify locations of cameras that are nearby crime scenes and contact the owners for video surveillance footage. This can significantly help the police by saving valuable time.
After signing up, you will only be contacted if there is an incident in the vicinity of your security cameras. In the event that a crime occurs near your registered camera, you may be contacted by Leicester Police who will request a copy of video and/or images captured by your cameras over a designated time period that could assist in an investigation.
