Capital Plans
A Capital Improvement Plan is a blueprint for planning a community’s capital expenditures. A CIP is typically a multi-year plan identifying capital projects and equipment to be funded during the planning period. Capital submissions have a value of over $10,000 and a lifespan of at least five years. The document is composed of three main sections:
- Schedule I – Last Fiscal Year’s Capital Improvement Plan.
- Schedule II – Changes to the current fiscal year Capital Plan including subtractions, additions, and general updates.
- Schedule III – A three-page document showing the upcoming fiscal year's Capital Improvement Plan, as submitted by the department heads.
The Town has undertaken the process of updating a five-year Capital Improvement Plan to identify and address capital needs and planning for the impact on budget development.
