Leicester EMS Department

Leicester EMS is a separate municipal department from the Leicester Fire Department. We share a joint Fire-EMS Headquarters located at 3 Paxton St. We currently operate four (4) ambulances, three (3) of which are equipped at the Advanced Life Support (ALS) - Paramedic Level and one (1) equipped at the Basic Life Support (BLS) - EMT Level.

Currently, the department consists of nearly sixty (60) employees, with four (4) full-time field employees, in addition to over 50 EMTs, AEMTs, and Paramedics that work in either a Part-Time, Per-Diem, or On-Call capacity. We respond to an average of 4 to 6 medical emergencies daily, for an annual average of approximately 2,300 calls for service. This is completed through staffing 1 Ambulance, 24 hours per day, 365 days per year in the station, as well as a 2nd Ambulance 8 hours per day. During periods of high call volume, we "recall" off-duty personnel from home to respond with our additional ambulances.

Leicester EMS is always seeking qualified candidates to serve in as an EMT, AEMT or Paramedic. If you are interested, please reach out to us today!
