COVID-19 Department Operations
Meetings: All meetings will be held using remote-participation options.
Applications: All applications should be submitted by email using the link above with required paper copies and fees mailed to: Leicester Town Hall, Attn: Board of Health, 3 Washburn Square, Leicester, MA 01524 or dropped off in the tax collection box at Town Hall (applications with large plans won't fit in this box and must be mailed). Staff will not meet you at the door for plan dropoffs.
Inspections: Routine inspections are suspended until further notice. Title V (septic) and well inspection requests will be taken on a case-by-case basis.
Complaints: Complaints (housing, nuisance, food) will be triaged remotely, and handled on a case-by-case basis
The Board of Health is responsible to protect the health and safety of the public through enforcement of MA Department of Public Health and MA Department of Environmental Protection sanitary and environmental codes and statutes, as well as local regulations and ordinances.
We are responsible for investigation and control of communicable disease and epidemics. We promote education to the public about healthy behaviors and lifestyles, and offer flu vaccination clinics yearly. Additionally, the health department responds to disasters and plans for all hazard emergencies in the community.
Board of Health members are elected to 3 year terms.
