· I believe in promoting commercial growth, but only that which is monitored and healthy for the town. In other words, commercial growth that satisfies the need to alleviate the tax burden on Leicester home owners while maintaining the character of the town. · I believe in promoting limited residential growth that welcomes new residents while simultaneously keeping in mind the limitations of our town services including our schools, police department, fire department, highway department, and water and sewer districts. · As an educator, I am keenly aware of the importance of education and the direct relationship between educational funding and property tax. This is another reason for the need to promote healthy, monitored commercial growth. · Finally, as a member of the Leicester Historical Commission, I am committed to maintaining the historical integrity of our beautiful town, regarding both landscape and open space. |
