Allow me to re-introduce myself and my family: My name is Dianna Provencher. I’m re-running for the office of Selectman in the April 7th town elections and would appreciate your vote. Leicester is a beautiful and growing town. We live in a community that has great potential for business growth while still supporting residential needs and concerns. I want to continue to help Leicester reach that potential and believe my professional and life experience will allow me to help manage town resources to serve the best interests of the town’s people. Many of you may remember me as Dianna Rochette. I was raised in the lower Main Street section of Cherry Valley. My husband, Bruce, and I presently live in a home we built on Charles Street in 1989. We have two children, both Leicester High School graduates. Bruce and I own Little Bit Farm & Apiary, a small but active farm we maintain on our property. We manage that business after our daily work schedules in the corporate world. My qualifications include: two Associates Degrees, Business Administration and Data Processing, both from Quinsigamond Community College, and a Bachelors Degree in Business Management from Lesley College. I worked for Maxtor Corporation of Shrewsbury for 18 years as a Senior Business Systems Analyst. Presently I am the Personnel/Safety/Community coordinator in our local Wal-Mart where many of our town residents are also employed. My service to the Town of Leicester spans many years and in several different capacities from 1986-present, including 19 years on the Leicester Conservation Commission. In 1999 I contributed to the completion of the Town Master Plan, the Town Open Space Plan and the acquisition of Hillcrest Country Club, which preserved 300 acres of green and open space for community use. I am a member of the Leicester Business Association, Leicester Red Has Society, Leicester Garden Club, Worcester County Bee Association, Massachusetts Chief of Police Association, Worcester County Sheriff’s Association, and The Massachusetts Education in the Classroom presently residing on their Executive Board. Since holding my position on the Board of Selectmen for the past 3 years, committees that I have been actively involved with include: · Community Emergency Response Team · Leicester Counsel on Aging · Bunrcoat Planning Committee · Historical Commission · CMRPC- Executive Committee · Fire Department Building Committee · Open Space Recreation Committee · Conservation Liaison · Recycling Committee · Hillcrest Long term planning Committee · Worcester Airport If re-elected to the Board of Selectman, my future goals will include: *Continue to acknowledge concerns brought by the Towns residents. *Continue efforts to research a safe relocation of a new central fire station. * Revitalization of Burncoat park * Development of Route 9 West corridor
