SEPTIC TAX CREDIT
We have been receiving several phone calls regarding the need for a letter of failure from the Board of Health in order for people tying into the sewer lines to get a tax credit.
People are calling us AFTER they have already connected to the sewer lines.  If we do not witness a problem, we cannot issue a letter of failure to them.  People need to contact the Board of Health at least a two (2) week prior to any sewer connections.
Thank you for your cooperation.  We look forward to working with everyone on this matter.

TITLE V SEPTIC SYSTEM TAX CREDIT INFO

If your septic system is in failure, you may be entitled to a LARGE tax credit. Please look at this link to find out about this credit, and whether you qualify: http://www.dor.state.ma.us/help/guides

To prove your system is in failure, you can hire a title V inspector to check it. This link will show you how to find a title V system inspector approved by Massachusetts: http://www.mass.gov/dep/brp/wwm/
localoff/files/sysinsp.htm#find

If you were officially notified that your system is in failure by a government agency (including the Board of Health), that should be enough to satisfy the state tax people that you qualify.
